George Raper, a service disabled veteran, started the company in 1972, after his service time in the Vietnam War, as a United States Navy Seabee. Mr. Raper continues to work in the business daily. The organization has grown from a small company to an unlimited, unclassified general contracting firm in NC and SC. We have the ability and knowledge to complete all types of construction projects. Our project experience includes: commercial, institutional, financial, retail, utilities, municipal, water treatment and waste water treatment facilities.

We believe in our employees. Their experience and skills contribute to a project’s success. Some of our skilled workers have been with us for over 28 years.  Our current team has contributed over 200 years of combined experience in the commercial new construction, commercial fit-up and renovation at GR&S.

We have a strong foundation and solid standards. Through open communication we uphold the highest level of service and professionalism while adhering to the following principles:

  • Respect everyone
  • Act with integrity
  • Pursue excellence
  • Execute with efficiency
  • Reflect a positive attitude

By focusing on efficiency and client satisfaction throughout the process, GR&S collaborates with a team perspective.

We carefully analyze each potential project to make sure it will fit our skill set. We have always operated under the principle that before we agree to take on a project, we must have the skill and capacity to confidently complete the project.

GR&S provides construction services and currently delivers projects through general construction and construction manager at risk.

It is the policy of GR&S to take affirmative action to assure equal employment opportunity to all qualified persons without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or veteran status.

“With a focus on value-engineered construction methods, consistent planning and an individualized approach to each project, we rely on client satisfaction for repeat business and referrals.”

– Steve Raper, Vice President
